Welder’s Cap

Side view

Before we left for our most recent trip to Las Vegas, my nephew-in-law asked if I could make a few of these caps for him.  I whipped up a batch.  The crown is made with four panels.  Each seam is reinforced with a zig-zag stitch.  The bill has batting and is quilted to create a sturdiness that is required..  The cap is lined to help with the shaping.  These were fun to make.  It took me between 50-55 minutes to complete one cap
