Silk Ribbon Embroidery Table Runner

I finished all of my sampler squares and decided to make them into a table runner for my dining room table.  I added a green border to each square, join them, lined it and top stitiches it using a green feather stitich.  I had fun creating this project.

Yellow Tee

Finished another Silk Embroidery Project this weekend. It’s a yellow tee that is just for me.  The basket was done in a basic stem stitch.  The large blooms are spider-web roses.  Amidst the rose bouquets are a smattering of tiny pink roses.

Refashioned Tank Top

It is great to be back to my crafting.  I’ve been away for a while (busy with life and one more transition)  Now, I have lots of time to devote to my craft work, to improving my health and to enjoying the company of my Sweetie.

As previously stated, I am taking a Silk Ribbon Embroidery class.  Started off with Sampler squares and have now progressed to a t-shirt..  My first project (one for me) was this tank top.  I added a beautiful floral desgin to the front.

Here are a few pictures showcasing my “first SRE project.”

Embroidered Table Runners

Here is a table runners that was just sitting around waiting to be completed.  Alas, their wishes were granted.

Silk Ribbon Embroidery Sampler

My next SRE class is on Tuesday, 7/17/12, and I am contemplating what my project for that day will be.  When I started this class I wanted to ensure that I did practice new stitches as I learned them and thus the concept of Sampler Squares seemed appropriate.  I concluded that 5 Sampler Squares would work.  Here is Square 3.  This one was done on Thursday.  Now, I have two more squares to go.  If I get them all done before Tuesday, then, I will need to come up with another idea—perhaps, a T-shirt

Square 3 consists of daisy flowers using the loop stitch. Some of the blossoms were made using the colonial knot (french knot). Leaves were made with the stem stitch.

New Horizons!!!!

ImageIt’s been a couple of months since my last post.  So much has happened.  The end of another school year occurred.  With the sending off of the students to the joys of summer vacation,my hubby and I retired.  Checking off another milestone in our lives.  With retirement we headed off for a month-long road trip through Neveda, Arizona, Utah, and New Mexico.  Whenever we could find a JoAnn’s Fabric, we stopped.  I was able to pick up several skeins of yarn.  I picked up a mini book of stencils for wildflowers.  Will have to figure out how to use this.
